A Step-By-Step Guide: Embed Your Catalog On Your Website

What is the point of making a digital edition if you can’t share it on your website? Your website will be the first place your customers go for information about your organization and your offerings. It makes sense then to embed your digital content on your page.

DCatalog wants to make this process as simple as possible. We do not require a plug-in, nor do we make you jump through hoops. By simply cutting and pasting you can share your publication with everyone. Check out our simple step-by-step guide!

Step 1: DCatalog Admin Page

Logging in to your DCatalog account will take you to your admin page. Here you will see your dashboard as well as your current editions. To embed a document on your website you will want to click on the “Embed” button.

Step 2: Embed Code

This will bring up a pop-up box. You will see a tab for HTML Embed and a tab for HTML Masking. If you want a simple embed code, use the “HTML Embed” tab. Click the copy button to copy the code. In addition, with “HTML Embed” we give you the ability to change the height of your edition. Adjust the height to fit your needs.  If you want to mask the domain and host it on your server, use the “HTML Masking” tab. Simply click the download button and it will start downloading. Step 3: Embed Edition on Your Website

Login to your Content Management System to add this code to your HTML page. To do this, open your webpage in your editor or CMS. Go to the place where you want to insert the code, and simply paste it there. We are using WordPress, but the same idea applies for other CMS systems. Click the “Text” tab and paste the embed code in the box. Click the “Save Draft” button to save your work.
